Since 2020, Metro has provided turnkey Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications services, including engineering, design, civil construction, field engineering, and splicing—building resilient networks that power today’s connected world.

Highlights of Special Projects

Hazel McCallion Line LRT – Mississauga–Brampton

Metro Infrastructure is proud to support the development of the 18-km Hazel McCallion Line LRT, featuring 19 stops and connections to six major transit systems, including GO Transit, MiWay, Brampton Transit, Z?M, and the Mississauga Transitway. Since beginning civil construction in 2022, Metro has completed critical infrastructure work, including manhole reconstruction and telecommunications relocations for 6+ telecommunications providers. Our scope includes civil construction, aerial work, cabling, fusing, fibre cutovers, and 24/7 outage response along the corridor—supporting the delivery of a reliable, sustainable transit system.

ION Rapid Transit – Waterloo–Kitchener

Metro Infrastructure played a key role in the ION Rapid Transit project, supporting upgrades along a 17-km corridor with 19 stations connecting Waterloo and Kitchener. Our work focused on modernizing century-old infrastructure, including the replacement of outdated cabling, while coordinating closely with multiple utilities and contractors. This collaboration was essential to the successful delivery of the project and the long-term growth of the region.
